LfM President Meets with Representative Lois Capps to Discuss Reducing Maternal/Neonatal Mortality in Developing Countries

WHEN:Nov 15, 2011LOCATION:Washington, DCTHEME:Integration of HIV/AIDS with Maternal/Reproductive Health using mHealth TechnologyINFORMATION:Dr. Harry Strulovici met with Congresswoman Lois Capps from California. The topic of discussion was the tragedy of maternal/neonatal mortality in developing countries. In addition, the need to integrate HIV with Maternal/Reproductive health services was emphasized. The findings of Phase l of LfM's Pilot Project was presented. Funding needs to implement interventions to improve health outcomes for mothers and children were also discussed. Sources of funding were identified and will be pursued as rapidly as possible. Future meetings with other Congressional and State Department officials will take place in December 2011.
